22MW JABBAN HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION

PRE-QUALIFICATION INVITATION NOTICE

1. General Manager (Hydel) Wapda House, Lahore invites application from interested Constructors for pre-qualification for Rehabilitation of 22MW Jabban Hydroelectric Power Station Project. 

2. Scope of work in the Contract:

-  Dismantling of Existing 19.6MW (2*5MW 3*3.2MW) Power House, Switchyard, Penstocks and parts of Forebay.

- Design power house components including Civil Structures, Procure, Deliver, Install and  Commission 4 units of 5.5 MW each and 132KV Switchyard including Civil Works and making Mardan Chakdara 132KV transmission line in and out arrangement at Jabban Power Station.

3. The contract is expected to be awarded by August,2008 and the completion period of works is 21 months excluding Defects Liability Period.

4. Pre-qualification is open for Constructors/Joint Ventures/ Consortiums duly registered with Pakistan Engineering Council in the relevant specialties and categories, and or may arrange the same in due course of time.

5. Interested applicants may obtain pre-qualification documents directly or by writing to the undersigned.

6. The request must clearly sate "Request for Pre-qualification Document". The documents are available for a non-refundable fee of US$ 150 or equivalent Pak Rupees (Rupees nine thousand only) in the shape of pay Order/Bank Draft in favour of Manager Finance (Hydel) Wapda, Lahore payable at HBL Gardee Square  Branch, Lahore Account No. 1303-59. The documents it requested will be promptly dispatched by courier on receipt of US$ 50 (US Dollar Fifty only) but under no circumstances WAPDA will be held responsible for late delivery or loss of the documents so mailed. Pre-qualification Documents could be obtained within 20 days, starting from the date of advertisement.

7. Applications for Pre-qualification must be received in sealed envelopes, in the office of undersigned latest by January 15, 2008.

8. Applicants will be advised in due course, of the results of their applications. Only firms pre-qualified under this procedure will be invited to bid.

9. The decision of " The General Manager (Hydel) Wapda, Wapda House, Lahore" as to whether the applications is eligible or not for pre-qualification shall be final and binding.
