PRE-QUALIFICATION OF SPECIALIST INTERNATIONAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION FIRMS/JOINT VENTURES

For Construction of Sialkot-Lahore Motorway (Package-I)

1. Name of Project is Sialkot-Lahore Motorway Project Package-I.

2. Government of the Punjab intends to construct Sialkot-Lahore Motorway Project of fast track. It is therefore, interested to pre-qualify a specialist international firms/joint ventures for completion of entire project in 30 months. They must have completed similar mega projects successfully in the past and they should have adequate arrangements to undertake the said project.

3. Scope of work includes construction of 87.750 kilometers divided six lanes, limited access Motorway from Sambrial intersection (Kms 0 000) to link M-2 intersection (Kms 87.750). It also includes construction of 21 kilometers 2 lane dual carriageway (Daska bypass (11 kms) and link to M-2 (10 kms) Islamabad-Lahore Motorway). It will involve construction of six interchanges, six flyovers number of underpasses, bridges and other drainage structures etc.

4. Cost of the Project is Rs. 20.00 billion. (US$ 334 million)

5. Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the undersigned between July 25-August 11, 2007, by interested Firms/Joint Ventures on submission of a written application against non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,500/- Rupees One Thousand & Five Hundred Only (US$ 25), in shape of Bank Draft or Pay Order in favour of Project Director, Project Management Unit, Sialkot-Lahore Motorway Project.

6. Duly completed pre-qualification applications along with one soft copy in PDF supported with documentary evidence, required in the application forms, should be delivered in sealed envelopes at the address given below latest by September 10, 2007 up to 1500 hours. Applications received later than  September 13, 2007 shall not be entertained. Applicantions should clearly be marked "Pre-qualification Application for Package-I, SLM Project".

7. Completed documents can also be sent by mail or through courier service at the expense of applicants, however, no liability is accepted for loss or late of delivery. Delivery in person will be allowed through authorized persons only. Incomplete applications shall summarily be rejected.

8. The Firms/Joint Ventures providing un-substantiated/incorrect information are liable to disqualification. Client will not be responsible for any cost or expense incurred by the applicants in-connection with the preparation and delivery of their applications.

9. Only pre-qualification Firms/Joint Ventures will be notified for further participation in bidding process by the Project Director SLM Project, which is expected by end of September 2007.

10. Project Director SLM Project, reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason(s) thereof.
