Pakistan- India symposium on Local Governance
July 2-3, 2007 Lahore
The increasing credibility of that new Local Government System is so compelling that the countries of the Commonwealth , SAARC and elsewhere are taking it as a model to be studied. A Commonwealth Symposium held in Islamabad in July 2006, called on member countries to study the model for its relevance and transferability to their own work, and to learn form Pakistan's good practice. The 2-day symposium aims at sharing our experience and knowledge with the leaders ,experts and think-tanks of India, enabling the people of the subcontinent to enjoy the fruits of local empowerment .
