REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Punjab Municipal Services Improvement Project (Loan No. 7380-P AK) 

Sustainable Development of Walled City of Lahore Project Component 

Design Consultancy Services for the Infrastructure Development in Royal Trail of Lahore Walled City

Government of Pakistan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Punjab Municipal Services Improvement Project which has a component of Sustainable Development of Walled City of Lahore Project (SDWCLP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for design consultancy services. The services includes:

Review of initial designs prepared for the relaying/relocation of water supply, sewerage/drainage, power and communication networks by relevant agencies.

Design of alignment and resurfacing of streets/pavements.

Analyze the designs for the appropriateness to the heritage context, and completeness, and suggest alternative solution (if needed).

Review design for their complementarily with each other and suggest options for coordinated design solution keeping in view the implementation arrangements for each component in an integrated manner.

Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates of the selected option and PC-I (if needed).

The Project Management Unit for SDWCLP now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments in last 5 years, professional registration with PEC, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, details of litigation, etc.) . Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures for Selection Based on Consultant's Qualification set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004.
