PRE-QUALIFICATION OF IT TRAINING INSTITUTE

FOR

Linux End Users Course and Linux Systems Administrators Course.

The Government of Pakistan (Information Technology & Telecom Division) has extended its IT Training Programme at all the Provincial Headquarters. AJK and big cities for Government employees and talented private individuals.

The Training will be arranged through reputed training institutions.

The training broadly includes:

Linux System Administration

• Introduction to Linux Operating System

• Basic Commands / File System

• Installation

• Linux Systems Administration

• Linux Network Administration

• Linux Packages Management (RPM, MySQL, or Postgre SQL, Window Manager)

• Linux Security

• Troubleshooting

• MySQLor Postgree SQL Database Installation

• MySQL or Postgre SQL Database Administration

Linux End User

• Introduction to PCs

• Introduction to Linux Operating System

• Basic Commands

• Installation

• File System

• User Accounts & Groups

• Star Office (Writer, Calc and Impress) (Major Segment of the course)

• Window Manager

The duration of the End User training will be of five weeks, six days a week and three hours per day and for Systems Administration eight week, six days a week and three hours per day. Well establishment IT Training Institutes located at the above stations interested in imparting training having adequate facilities e.g. at least regular instructors, two Class Rooms, Computer Labs with at least 15 P-VI Computers in networking environment may submit their office.

The offer from reputed institutes consisting of the following information must reach at address given below at least by 2nd June, 2008. The phrase "PCB"s Advertisement No. 1 may be written on the top right hand corner of the envelope.

• Institution's Profile indicating exact location, the year of establishment, volume of training handled etc

• No. of Class Rooms, Computer Labs, PCs/Printers in each Lab in network environment

• Number of Instructors don regular/part time basis having BCS (4 years ) MS Degree and their teaching experience.

• Charges for conducting a course of 20-30 participate in one batch (course fee per participant).

• A copy of the course manual and handouts for trainees may be enclosed. PCB will have the right to replicate the material if selected.
