CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS FOR GENERATION COMPANIES

Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) has been mandated by the GOP for implementation and management of the Reforms and Restricting of Pakistan's Power Sector, under the GOP policy to move the WAPDA Power Wing Companies towards Autonomous and Commercial Operation. The Power Sector includes 14 entities covering the entire geographical area of Pakistan except Karachi (KESC). PEPCO is responsible for the management of the 14 corporate entities ("CEs") and their transformation into customer-oriented, public service utilities in line with utility best practices.

Pakistan Power Sector is the back bone of the National economy and is one of the largest economic sectors of the nation with the revenue exceeding US$ 5 billion. This is a unique opportunities for high caliber team leaders, for the position of Chief Executive having demonstrated capability and potential to turn around the noted companies to best of class Power Generation Units.

JOB PROFILE:

The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the overall management of company operations to ensure achievement of company's revenue and generation targets. He will lead the company management in setting and achieving higher operational performance target, formulate and implement plans for further improving the same with special emphasis on recovery of lost output, improvement of efficiency of units, reduction in auxiliary consumption, proper arrangement / efficient consumption of fuel. The CEO will also be required to maintain good working relationship with labour and will ensure adherence by the company to NEPRA performance standards and meet relevant regulatory operational requirements.

CEOs will also be required to proactively work on plans for new capacity generation on fast basis through public - private partnership and cost effective financing / investment.

We seek pro-active, results-oriented professionals with established credibility and performance record, who can take these challenging assignments. The candidates are required to have strong leadership, inter-personal & communication skills with a high drive for performance targets to convert the power generation companies as Model Power Companies in the line with best business practices of World IPPs.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

The candidate should preferably be Professional Engineer registered with PEC or a senior management expert in power generation. Additional Engineering or management qualifications and management experience specifically in Power Generation Plants will be an added plus. Minimum 20 years experience in the employment level, with a minimum of 05 years in senior management position is essential. 

AGE:

The candidates are expected to be in the age band of mid to late 50s. Younger, dynamic performance driven professionals are encouraged to apply.

REMUNERATION:

A market based remuneration package will be provided along with a company maintained car for personal use or conveyance allowance in lieu thereof, house rent, and other admissible benefits, including comprehensive medical coverage for self and family from the well-structured system of Wapda Hospitals.

WAPDA, PEPCO, CEs OFFICERS ELIGIBILITY:

WAPDA, PEPCO, and the Corporate Entities' Senior Officers who meet the criteria are eligible to apply through proper channels. Officers recently retired or those within three / four months time are also eligible to apply for the position.

TENURE:

The initial contract will be for a period of three years, extendable with mutual agreement, on satisfactory performance.
