The Organization

The Brooke is a non-profit public limited company employing over 250 permanent staff in Pakistan, with a growing network of projects in NWFP, Punjab and Sandh. The Brooke works in some of Pakistan's poorest communities, where people rely on animals for their livelihood. Our primary aim is to develop a sustainable Improvement in the welfare of working equine animals, with associated social and economic benefits to animals owning families and communities.

Communications Officer

The Post :

As the Brooke expands, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated Pakistani national to work in a new role as a Communications officers. The Communications officer will ensure that the information requirements of the fundraising department in Brooke Uk are met in a timely and accurate fashion, and that Brooke Pakistan develops a profile in national and local media within Pakistan, Reporting directly to the Chief Executive of Brooke Pakistan, the post holder will be responsible for compelling information, news letters, reports, photographic records, summaries and stories for release both to UK fundraisers and to national and local media. The post holder will have additional responsibility for hosting and coordinating press visits from foreign media, and for working with colleagues in the UK to develop coordination and communication in terms of PR and fundraising.

The Post Holder:

The ideal candidates would be a highly organized and competent post graduate, preferably with a track record spanning more than three years in journalism media, communication or PR. An ability to write English to the standard of a graduate native speaker in essential, as is confidence with standard IT and photographic equipment and programmes. As the post holder will be working with a variety of staff from the UK and Pakistan, an ability to work across cultures and as part of a team is important.

Salary:

Negotiable attractive salary package. The salary will be decided depending on experience and qualifications.

Location:

The post holder will be based in Lahore, but will be expected to travel throughout Pakistan; there is also potential for international travel.

MONITORING & EVALUATION OFFICER

The Post:

Reporting directly to the CEO of Brooke Pakistan, the post holder will work with the Brooke's field teams and UK based Asia programme adviser to ensure that Brooke field project are planned, monitored and evaluated appropriately. The post holder will work to guide field teams in developing baselines, designing log frames and activity plans, and in maintaining systematic monitoring of progress. The post holder will work with UK colleagues to ensure that systems are in place, and that support is available to field teams, and also will help the CEO to coordinate the activities of specialist support staff in based in Pakistan.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

• Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role for a NGO or development agency

• Proven track record of project cycle management

• Experience of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies in a development context

• Expertise in and familiarity with log frames baselines, impact monitoring and evaluations
