For consultancy services for detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of Tender Documents For

The Government of Pakistan has approved the PC-II of Basho Hydropower Project through WAPDA (Client). The project would be located along the lower stretch of Basho Lungma in Skardu District of Northern Areas of Pakistan. The intake weir structure will be located on Basho Lungma near Forest Lodge and the powerhouse will be placed on the left bank of Indus River at the confluence of Basho Lungma with Indus River; 46 km downstream of Skardu city. The project has been studies to Feasibility level for an installed capacity of 28 MW for a discharge of 3.5m3/s and gross head of 949m.

Detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of Tender Documents of the project are to be undertaken through Engineering Consulting Firms or Joint Venture of Local and Foreign Consultants registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Interested Engineering Consulting Firms and voluntarily formed Joint Ventures of such Firms from any country except those with which Pakistan has no commercial relations, are invited to submit Expression of Interest (EOI).

The intention of this invitation is to prepare short-list of suitable Consulting Firms/Joint Venture from which the proposal will be invited. The Joint Venture should not be comprised of more than four firms. Pre-qualification documents are available in the office of General Manager (Hydro) Planning, WAPDA, Sunny View, Kashmir Road, Lahore on payment of Rs. 2000/- (non-refundable). The last date for submission of EOI applications is 10th March, 2008 up to 1200 hours.
